Does anyone kow what size exhaust system is on a 2000 ford ranger 3.0L also what muffler sounds the best for a 3.0L?

A good friend of mine that happens to own a muffler shop did just that to my 94 3.0 I had a quite a few years ago. Here's what he did. First he cutoff the exhaust from the catalytic converter-back. Next thing he took a cutoff piece off of a Hemi Dodge full size truck (looked like from the muffler-back/it's already 3" from the factory) and a flowmaster muffler (not sure which series-probably 40 series) and a spool piece to fit between the muffler and the catalytic converter, welded it all up, and finished it off with a chrome tip that sat just where the factory exhaust finisher had but was a little closer to the fender. I wish I had pics, it looked factory actually. You really couldn't tell it was 3". The real excitement was when I cranked it up. It was really deep tone sounding. The only time it sounded like a V6 is when you really got on the throttle. It did get loud at that point but was fairly quiet if you were just putting around. I did have many positive comments about the tone of the exhaust and lots of them asked if I had done a V8 swap. That exhaust sounded really mean just sitting there idling. I would definitely recommend this setup to anyone. I don't like the redneck loud stuff and I hate duals so if your like me, then this is your setup.
