Default Califonia Approved Catalyctic Converters

Anyone know where or who sells and installs them at a reasonable cost. We are in So Cal and just got a quote for one installed for $1,700.00. We are just over the 80,000 warranty at 87,800 miles. Go figure.

This is the first issue with my sons ranger.

Found these. Cant you install it your self. Or do you have to have a shop do it?

Ya I saw the Magnoflows but couldn't find one CA approved. Plus yes I think it has to be installed by someone certified

Have someone in the forum buy you an aftermarket one and mail it. I'm sorry you live in such a Nazi state. I wish I had a "california sucks" t-shirt.

Actually I found some CA legal Magnaflows on http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...e+&+Drivetrain

They range from $82.00 to $405.00. Do I need to buy 2 sepearte ones. I looked under the truck at the exhaust and found what looks like maybe five things on the exhaust that look similar to the CC's. Anyone here no what they are all for. Looking for a picture of the 2003 stock exaust system that ID's each component on the exhaust. Anyone have one or know what they are all. The manual is not specific and doesn't show the hole system.

As far as I know my 02 has 4 CC. 2 small ones up towards the engine and 2 larger ones towards the transmission.

I would buy one and get on craigslist and look or a welder who will do it cheap.

I actually took a second look and talked to a mechanic and there are acutually 5 and one they don't make an after market for but some guys are using ones off F150's that are working but when you go to get it smogged if they check it closely thet could write up that way anf it would have to get one from a dealer
