Exhaust Size for 2002 3.0L Ranger Edge???

Hey yall, anybody knows the stock exhaust size for my 2002 Ranger Edge model. It has a 3.0L Flex Fuel in it. Going to be purchasing a Dynomax Super Turbo Exhaust and have some guys at Midas that could do the welding for cheap since I don't want to replace the whole entire thing: the pipes and exhaust. So any help on this would really be appreciated. Thank you!

Another guy on here said his is a 2.25'' and he has a 03 ranger xlt flex fuel. Mine is a 02 edge flex fuel. So I don't know, but I want to get a exhaust so bad and I also heard instead of welding you can saw the pipes off from the stock exhaust???

You're comparing welding (process of adding) to sawing off (process of removal)?? Huh?

Yes you can saw off the pipe the end result is basically what a dumped exhaust is.

Yea what I was going to do is get my new exhuast saw off the stock exhuast and place the new one in and use some clamps on each side to hold it in. That way would be better for me because I don't want to go and replace the pipes and the exhaust. Just wondering if the stock exhuast is 2.25 or 2.5?

Take a string, 10" long. Wrap it around your exhaust pipe where you want to know the diameter. Know you have the circumference. Then:
Divide the circumference by pi (3.14) to find the diameter
(C/3.14)=diameter.

Know you know. Mine was 2.07"

Coming out of the cats mine was 2.5", then it dropped down to 2.25" just before the muffler. I don't remember what it was after the muffler though. I cut it off after the cat, ran 2.5" to the muffler, weld(or clamp) and done.

I forgot about that, okay I will do that tomorrow. By the way, I found a 73 dollar check in my truck lol so now I can get my exhaust and pipes. Sweet! Thanks Vince

Okay, I did that string thing, it was close to 7 inches so divided that by pi and got 2.20 something so I told that to a guy at Advance Auto Parts and he said for me to get 2 1/4. So I got that and some clamps and my dad said he's got a saw and will be sawing it off this Saturday early in the morning. The new exhaust is sitting in my truck anxious to be put on. Hope everything goes out okay. Wish me luck!
