Default MBRP exhaust questions

I've been doing some searching but I haven't found any answers. I'm looking at the MBRP Single Side Cat Back Exhaust System. I know a few members on here have it and I'm wondering how loud it actually is. It's hard to tell from youtube videos how it compares to the Flowmasters and Magnaflows. I'm looking for something that gives me a nice sound on start up and acceleration, but nothing that will drone too bad in the cab and draw a lot of attention from the cops. Am I looking at the right exhaust system for my truck or not?

My Flowmaster 40 sounds like what you described. I'm thinking the mrbp or whatever is louder. Very little cab drone with mine

Hmm okay. I hope someone with the mbrp will chime in. Or someone who has heard it before.

Go mbrp. It's beast. Loud when you want it to be, doesn't drone on the highway, and you can cruise around town and not draw to much attention.

But when it fires up it sounds like a v8. I've actually had people ask if I swapped a 5.0 in. No joke.

3K rpm and up you can tell its a v6, but it still sounds good. 2500 and down its super deep, and sounds epic. Better than flowmaster and much better than magnaflow

Thanks man! Exactly what I needed to know. Sounds like my exhaust. Do you have the turndown right after the exhaust? I'm getting the full length system so would that be quieter?

I just did an in cab video. I'll edit it so it sounds exactly like real life, then upload it. So you know exactly what is gonna sound like.

Yes I have the turndown. Full out the back like stock will be quieter in cab, but a hair louder from the outside on the side it exits. I didn't want an exhaust tip to bend and get caught on when offroading, so the turndown was the way to go for me.

expoorting, then uploading a video shortly. its in cab, windows up, then in cab, windows down, hit NOS (lol, its a joke, you'll see) then a little bournout. didnt wanna take to much rubber off my tires, but its fun to make a teeny bit of smoke once in a while.

I shall post when uploaded.

tried to get it sounding as deep as it is in person, but my program to do it isnt working right.

I have the turndown. I do like it, sounds great outside, not much drone at or below 55 mph but if you do much driving at 65 it does have some drone. I am actually looking into buying the individual pieces to make it the full side exhaust, because of this. I recommend buying it as the full one side exhaust, because as I found out the individual pieces are more expensive than if I'd bought the whole thing to begin with.

But all in all, yes, I really do love the mbrp, and would recommend it to anyone.
