Default Cherrybomb. Ugh.

So when I bought my truck it had a cherrybomb on it and it didn't sound so bad when it was cold out and i had the windows up all the time. Now it's warm and it's driving me nuts when the windows are open. Sounds like a little ricer with a fart pipe on it. Is there any reason for me not to get this thing off and put a normal muffler on? Am I get any mpg or power benefits from it? I really hate the sound it makes....

Advanced has a flowmaster 40 delta flow for 100 and a "Dynamax Super Turbo" for 45. Is there gonna be a difference mpg or performance wise? I'm mostly going for mpg's and don't care how it sounds as long as it doesn't sound like a fart pipe....

Find you an older car with Orange Peelers on it, the REAL AND ONLY glass packs, then it will sound alot better

Its a 4-banger, it'll sound like rice with any glass pack on it or any extremely high flowing muffler...I'd go with something a little more restrictive or less loud, should help cancel out some of the highs and make it sound better. I've heard a Flowmaster 44 on a 2.3L and it sounded pretty good.

you would be surprised how restrictive a glass pack muffler with louvers really is.There are a few muffler flow test online and the results are surprising.here is one test http://broaderperformance.com/muffler_flow_tests.htm

it doesn't do shit to ur mpg. i use to have my old truck straight piped. and i got less mpg then i did with the mufflers on it.
all cherry bombs do is deepin the sound alittle.
i dont see why you could not just take it off and get a muffler.

hopefully that helps alittle

yeah go with a flowmaster and be done, a gas engine needs some back pressure to work, so a straight pipe is not really the best solution.
