Are you asking a question or making a statement?

I am asking a question. I have this question posted on another site. I got a little feedback, most of it says the aftercat o2 sensor does not affect engine management. I am looking for a detailed answer to the question.

the following questions are based on the assumption that the vehicle was manufactured with o2 sensors. not modified.

1) Does every precat o2 sensor on every car have an input on engine management?

2) Does every aftercat o2 sensor on every car have an input on engine management?

I just got another post on my other thread that says the aftercat O2 sensor is there only to read the info and throw a code.

Do you have a website or any literature explaining your position. I could not find any in a quick google search. I have read this site but did not help. Fordfelinjection.com

I noticed if I disconnect my positive battery cable for a few minutes and reconnect I can reset my check engine light. Sometimes it takes weeks for the light to come back on.My code indicated a o2 sensor but wouldn't specify which one the three was causing the trouble code. Does anyone know if different gasoline like shell or chevron higher octane can make a difference My v-6 flex fuel has 203,000 miles on it and still runs great.

if it is the 2000 in your profile the codes would tell you what o2 sensor was the issue. post the code and we will tell you what one it is I have heard that chevron is better than shell.

Bump. These are questions. Anyone find any ford O2 literature? Any websites with a solid explanation of the role of O2 Sensors? Anything?

I didn't really find any solid evidence, but also I didn't really try super hard either. Every vehicle with OBD 2, which would be 96 and newer, will have front and rear O2 sensors. Vehicle before that will most likely have a front sensor and may or may not have a rear one. It just depends on the vehicle. I also don't know how old of vehicles they started coming on.
