Flowmaster Delta Flow 60 series. It's made specifically for 4 and 6 cylinder engines. And they sound real good too. It also doesn't sound like a Po'ed hornet either. here's the site www.flowmastermufflers.com . They also have sound clips too.

I was thinking about changing mufflers on my truck also to get a deep rumble. I was thinking about glasspacks or just removing the muffler all together. Does anyone know what either of those sound like on a '93 4.0?

They sound ok. The no muffler thing sounds good too but it will draw alot of "unwanted attention" and you'll be spending some cash to pay fines. and you'll also be in and out of court more than you care for. Once you get an exhaust ticket you HAVE to go to court. It is NOT prepayable at all. I have a 3.0 and The Cherrybomb Glass packs sound good. Here's a photo:
It sounds better than alot of people think it does and it has a very nice rumble to it.

ok, this is as good as any place to fire off my first muffler/exhaust question. I have a '02 3.0 Ranger XLT extended cab. What is the factory size of the inlet tubing to the stock muffler? 2.00? 2.25? I want a Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow (i've had enough LOUD exhausts in my day). I crawled underneath and saw 2 pre cats on the factory y pipes and then an oxygen sensor and THEN another CAT!!! I live in FL, no testing, etc. Can i get a shop to cut off that 3rd cat and install the exhaust? no O2 sensor issues shuold be all good. What size inlet and dual outlet should I get on th muffler too? thanks!!

The stock exhaust size is 2.25 inch pipe. And to answer your other question yes. I had to go to another state to get the resonator/cat cut off of mine (the 4th cat). Go with a single inlet and dual outlets. It's not loud but it's deep.

actually i have 3 cats then an O2 sensor than ANOTHER cat!! I want that 4th cat downstram of all the sensors, etc. gone! I talked to Flowmaster today and they seem to think it's 2" in so get a 2" in dual 2" out 50 series Delta Flow. Now i looked at the muffler and it's an offset inlet, and its positioned sideways to fit in the space, since i'm getting all new pipe does it matter if its' center inlet or offset inlet and what is the inlet size for certain?? 2? 2.25? this a 3.0 V6

Flowmaster is a little bit off. It's 2.25 inches and you must keep in mind that they're trying to "up sell" you to make a profit. The 50 series is ok but it's designed for big block engines. Basicly a Deltaflow 60 series would be perfect for you. That's the "American Thunder" system listed for your truck. It's specifically made and designed for 4 and 6 cylinder engines. That 50 series and the american thunder 40 series mufflers sound good but the only way to get them to work like they should is to put them right off the header collector and good luck getting an exhaust shop to do that. And getting rid of the "4th Cat" won't effect it much at all. You'll smell a little bit of gasoline on cold mornings and if you haven't ran it while as well you'll smell a little bit of gas.

Dynomax super turbo! Im getting that if anyone could tell me my in and out size on my truck. I tried measuring it but can't seem to really get a good measurement. Also I have no welder and the exhaust is welded onto the pipes. Any help on that would be most appreciated. Thank you!
