I've removed EGR and even de-programmed my ECU for it. Most aftermarket race intake manifolds don't have porting for EGR. Overseas markets rarely have EGR - just a software adjustment.

Its also possible to remove the carbon/evap cannister (done that too - 8.5 lbs weight savings)

This is why it is important to have software where you can rewrite XML instructions on how your OBD2 tests work, and why I will never buy a vehicle that I cannot get this software.

No but the amount of choking the engine that they do sure as hell does. and you did reprogram your ECU. most people who do remove the EGR Valve don't do that. And alot of them end up scratching their heads wondering why their vehicle doesn't start. I didn't say that is wasn't impossible to remove the EGR valve. Did you think I didn't know this by any chance? Cause I did own a tuning business a few years ago but it went belly up when we were pushing damn near $6 bucks a gallon. You see a certain series of movies changed the tuning and hotrodding industry forever and NOT FOR THE BETTER EITHER. The movies were entertaining yes. But these dumb ass kids always showed up at my door after seeing one of those movies wanting to trick it out for practically no money. And alot them didn't know one end of the vehicle from the other too. Those are called WANNA BE'S. People who think they know about vehicles but in the end, really don't know shit. And for damn sure I aint one of them.

back to basics, i have a '02 XLT 3.0 and i am getting a "cat back" exhaust put in here in FL. I'm going w/ a 2.25" center inlet/dual 2" outlets in a Fflowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow. by crawling under and giving a quick visual, i see a TON of cats on the factory y pipes/headers, only 1 (the last) o2 sensor is visible, it's after the 2 cats on each factory header feed into a single pipe, then ONE MORE cat THEN a last o2 sensor THEN another cat then some pipe, then the factory muffler, etc. I at LEAST am going to remove the last cat after the last o2 sensor and replace that easily accesible o2 sensor i see while its in the air at the shop. can i or should I try and get rid of the cat just before the last o2 sensor and just have the cats on the factory headers and tap into the new tubing w/ the new Bosch o2 sensor i have??? or is that a disaster? i'm dead set on at the very least getting rid of the last cat downstream from the final o2 sensor, TOTAL OVERKILL!!! comments please, i'm new to the FORD family.....

you dont have to cut em out just hollow them out still looks legal also

Yea do this. i just hollowed out my catty's on my 01. It adds some more power and it sounds kinda cool.
