Default Dump Out Valves

If I put a dump out valve before my cats and muffler, how do yall think it will sound, I think it will sound better than a flowmaster 40 series cause it will be nothing but open manifolds pretty much.

What a keen observation.

On my IX I have an divorced wastegate dump which is basically the same as what your talking about. When the wastegate opens it gets MUCH louder than when it is closed: like traffic-accident-causing loud.

videos or its not true..

now, on the subject of a dumpout.. generally from my experiences its been a bad idea. not only due to the fact that you're running basically open manifold, but due to the fact that the majority of your exhaust gasses are going to wind up in the cab (not safe). also you're going to lose back pressure and trip all of your post manifold 02 censors.

all in all, i personally dont recommend it.

I've never had a problem with this, nor been able to smell it.

The wastegate dump is actuated by a spring loaded diaphragm that is plumbed to the intake manifold; At 34psi, it opens to protect from over boost.

exactly, OP's on the other hand will be open all the time. So, idling at redlights, or drive thru's, or just about anywhere will be bringing exhaust into the cab. Even while driving he'll be getting a headache from it. I've done it before with previous trucks and its a bad idea.

and wait... 34lbs of boost? impressive.

You get that same smell from big cams at idle with no catalyst, right in the vehicle also. Doesn't give me a headache but I love how my clothes always smell like gas.

I never said it was the same, just giving information.

It will probably not sound good at all. Ive heard a bunch of things done where i live and people do take care of their trucks. Guy that went to school had a 3.0 with basically everything but the exhaust manifold and a bit of pipe gone. Sounded like ass. Leave the cutouts to V8s and get your self a nice muffler and you'll be sounding good.
