It would help if you told us what kind of ranger you have, engine size trans type 4x2 or 4x4. Also there really isn't much it's a ranger so it doesn't really get very loud. You could cut off the muffler and cats however the act of removing the cats is against the law. Could try changing mufflers, really the best way altho not the cheapest, a 5.0L swap.

In all seriousness we need to know the spec's on your truck. I have the 4L engine, I put the MBRP Cat Back exhaust system on, it sounds awesome.

Louder as in exhaust? Any aftermarket muffler will do. You want it to sound good? that's a beast of a different color.

4 things

1. Straight pipe (after the cat) or Flowmaster 40. I think the flowmaster makes these small engines sound ok.

2. Add a CAI or remove any of the sound baffle stuff in the intake. This will give you truck a nice loud vacuum cleaner sound.

3. Add a little water squirter under your hood and aim it at your serpentine belt. This will give you belt a nice squeal. Another way to accomplish this is to remove the belt and soak it with brake clean or acetone. This will dry the hell out of it and make it SCREEEAM.

4.Mud tires. These will drone all day long at any speed over 20 MPH. Very loud and will make everyone look at you.

INstall a set of dumpers! Or punch a hole in the muffler. A pair of Magnaflo mufflers wouldn't hurt, either! Brum...BRUM!

Guys I just want the exhaust to sound good.. I have a 5 speed 4 cylinder engine.. I'm tired of the little winding sound when I let off the clutch.. Need a good roar to the exhaust.. I don't want my damn belts to squeal.. Lol

There's nothing wrong with it, it just makes the same sound as any small 2.3L makes... I just want it to sound better..
