Default fuel injection and no back pressure is ok because the computer makes up for it?

me and one of my buddies go muddin alot (and break things) and hes got a 2.9l bronco 2 (fuel injection, no cat only glass pack after exhaust manifold...) and i got a 3.0l ranger (fuel injected cat and glass pack)

from my slight engine knowledge i came to the conclusion that fuel injection engines gas/air mix will be right no matter how little/much back pressure

and carbuereatuers are set at one single gas/air ratio which leads to f#&ked up engines when no back pressure

am i correct at all?

please help

i'm not 100% sure about that one but it doesn't sound right, but iv'e been wrong at least once before so... lol. i don't think your computer will make up for lost back pressure.

but if it does i think (know) there will still be a loss of power

someone please correct me if i'm not right

Because I don't have time to fully explain how and why I'm going to just do this...

you need some backpressure, the amount you have can change the power and tourque output at different rpms. if no backpressure was good drag cars would not run headers at all. just a open port on the block

Your confusing backpressure with exhaust flow speed.
