Why don't Magnaflow exhausts fit EDGE models?!
I was ready to buy a Dual magnflow cat back when a receptionist told me magnaflow has no exhaust that fits on an EDGE... Apparently they fit every ranger from 93-09 except EDGE and Sport. I'd love an explination if anybody has any thoughts on why it is that way, or even if they know of any solution.
,thanks in advance

Re: Why don't Magnaflow exhausts fit EDGE models?!
whoever told you that is retarded. just get it for an XLT if you have to, just make sure its for the motor you have and the right cab.
for you itd be for a 3.0L ext cab. nothing on the edge is different as far as exhausts.

Re: Why don't Magnaflow exhausts fit EDGE models?!
nothing is even different between ext cab and regular cab except a longer piece of pipe from the cat back. 4cyl should have 2" pipe, v6 should have 2.25" pipe.

yeah this one says 2.5 inch pipe but i doubt that would change anything. I think i will call magnaflow tomorrow and check with them.

Haha yeah thanks. I also saw a video on youtube of a red ranger with a magnaflow. His is a sport wich they say wont fit. He said it was a myth and that it is only if you have a trailer hitch. Even then you can trim it (as he did) to fit just fine.
Case solved lol

Re: Why don't Magnaflow exhausts fit EDGE models?!
The only difference in the rear suspension between the Edge/Sport and the XL/XLT is a lift block. I am certain it will fit. Your ebay link didn't work but I assume the seller got their fitment information from magnaflow.

Re: Why don't Magnaflow exhausts fit EDGE models?!
The lifts blocks go on 4wd trucks and 2wds dont get them.
xl/xlt/sport/edge are just trim packages, except the edge has 4wd front suspension and lift blocks.
Since there is so many combos of trucks Magnaflow will only say it works with what the test fit it on.

Re: Why don't Magnaflow exhausts fit EDGE models?!
Don't feel bad, the info is only as good as the person putting into the system. I had issues with getting the correct u-joints for the '98 until I brought an old one in to the store and made the parts guy pull every u-joint they had listed for the Ranger so I could compare them side by side. Only then, did I get the ones I needed.

Re: Why don't Magnaflow exhausts fit EDGE models?!
There is no reason whatsoever that they wont fit on a edge. It baffles me even more that they say it will fit on a FX4 since the FX4 is just an edge with skidplates, bilsteinss, l/s rear and 4x4...
