Will a cat bypass add alot of torque?
Will a cat bypass add alot of torque? Or will it add any torque at all? My friend says it adds alot of torque.

Nope.
The cats are not a bottleneck to your exhaust. If anything, you may lose some low-end torque if there's a significant reduction of back pressure.

Right, but you have the wrong mentality.
Reducing backpressure does not reduce your torque.
Slowing the exhaust down reduces your torque.
Most of the time when you do one, you get the other though.

you will loose some low end with out the cat, the cat flows very good you will not gain anything by removing the cat.

you'll lose a bit of power.
I cut the muffler off of my '99 ZR2 sonoma and it killed my power. obviously not the same motor but just an example

Actually.....what caused your lack of power was most likely the elimination of a full tailpipe....

port the head, bigger cam, tougher springs and valves if you want it to be more powerful.

start with the simple things, unless you got the time n money to do it right like Jp7 said... Otherwise, the simple bolt-ons will atleast feel better, K&N(though some hate it), add a e-fan, and underdog crank pulley, this is only free-ing up HP, not exactly making it a race truck.
Check you gear ratio, for more torque I would make sure you got the 4.10's!
And Jp7, You got pics of that Evo? I dream about Evo's like teenage boys dream about $ex!
