Question Cat Delete

What will happen if I delete the cat on my truck. It is plugged up and need of replacement, but im short on cash right now and new ones are spendy. I dont have emmisions here so thats not an issue. What would be the effects of cutting it out?

it may throw a code & CEL for the rear O2 sensor not being happy, which i had happen with my monte carlo, but it won't throw the vehicle into limp mode or anything. might not even throw a code (my mothers isuzu never did). plus you'll more than likely get better fuel mileage and more power.

the cat's i've done, instead of cutting them out i unbolt the exhaust and use a peice of rebar & a hammer to bash gut the cat out, then fire it up & rev it to blow all the peices out, & repeat untill nothing blows out. without the shell of a cat in there the vehicle will fail a visual / safety inspection, even if your state / county dosin't have emissions testing.

Up here, the first thing the rednecks do to their piece of junk is remove the cats. Not nice on the eyes, nose, throat, if you're behind the piece of whitetrash.

Numerous Federal vehicles laws are worthless as far as enforcement at many local/state levels go. To name a few obvious examples, just look at all the 'tards driving around on public roads with illegal HID bulbs installed in incandescent headlight fixtures and diesel trucks modified so they puke out thick black smoke, and not a f*cking thing is done about it (but if I fail emissions I have to pay $ to fix, then retest, and the excess *pollution* probably wasn't even be visible). Laws with no teeth are evidently, not laws.

Dirtbag logic; "It's all legal, as long as you don't get caught".

Kinda like those catalytic converter test pipes from way back (JC Whitney as an example, sold them), remember those? And per the instructions, they were only to be installed to test and confirm that the suspect converter was plugged and in need of replacement, and I'm sure everybody that did the test and found the need to replace their converter replaced it el pronto, right?
