Many thanks!
It would be a perfect match if you ask me! Thats what the super 44 does. Brings out true sounds when its pushed and a quiet rumble when cruising. Its perfect on my 3.0!

the 40 series does that much more than the super 44 though cuz its made to amplify sound, not enhance true sound like the super 44.

true duals isnt worth installing on a 3.0L - no resourceful gain in hp and/or mpg as a result... If you want dual exhaust, your best way is to go for a split at the muffler and install dual pipes from there...

this is the question. hey guys i have priced a few shops. CES (custom exhaust systems) single with 2 1/2 in all the way out + super 44 $195.95. single in dual 2 1/2 out $295.95 (both with new piping from the end of the headers back)

scotts exhaust $270.00 single he said duals are illegal because my truck doesnt have dual catalytic converters.

so im wandering if i should do the ces duels or just do a cat swap.

how does it sound with the stock pipes?

you're asking different questions... first you want to know if "true" or "complete" dual exhaust from the manifold back is worth it... Now you're asking another question... I answered the first one, you ignored that and came back with this...

so in that case, there was no need for me to even answer the first one... or perhaps even answer questions if people are going to ignore what advice I give... This thread has gone 7 pages, all over from one extreme to the other, and I thought that you wanted advice on whether it was worth the money to change your single pipe to a true dual exhaust??

In this case - i'll exit the thread and if you decide you want to ask me another question you can do it privately..........

I think in the long run, you will be very happy with removing the muffler, and going with a single. it will give you the sound you want without killing your budget. replacing just the muffler, not the entire pipe. use the stock pipe and spend the extra money you saved by not buying new pipe on a tip. i think you will be very happy. in regards to the true duals conversation....without a x-pipe...its going to sound like crap...its going to run no better than it did before. (personal experience with 3.0) a single exhaust balances the exhaust note/tone with all the cylinders and flows just fine for a non pumped up motor.

haha, nah! For a 2.3 a 40 series is better cuz its a smaller engine. For a V6 a super 44 is good cuz its got the exhaust output nesessary. the 2.3 doesnt so it needs to be amplifyed to sound loud. speaking from experience.

that true and ive seen it done. only bad thing about no mufflers on that 2.3 is that it may sound a little ricey at high rpm so thats why i like the 40 series on them... adds a rumble to that high pitch rev.
