ok so this site is getting me in tons of trouble with the fiance....been on here for less than 2 weeks....have new grille on the way...new wheels and tires......and now looking for exhaust..... i got a 94 3.0 splash..... ive never had a v6....this is my first ranger...always have had v8 f150s....so im not sure what sounds good on v6 all i know is i want a deaper throaty sound....but ive heard 2 many rangers around my area that sound like shit...id prefer to get a bolt on to keep the cost down but i know thats not very likely....idc if its 2 muflers with dual in and single out or dual in dual out...idc just want the sound....what u guys got?

my motto: Flowmaster Rocks, Magnaflow Blows!

Ive got a 03 edge 3.0 and i am running a flowmaster super 44 with the exhause coming out straight out the side before the tire, lightning style... bringing it out before the tire caused me to lose mpg due to little backpressure but it sounds great on my truck! No matter which way you go with the exhaust, in terms of single or duals or whatever, i would recomed the super 44 if you want to hear the true rumble sound of the engine. Now if you want a much louder gurgle sound then go for the 40 series. In my experience with flowmaster on ford V6 engines, the 44 is enhancing the true sound and the 40 series will amplify the sound to be louder...

ranting aside... super 44!

+1 on super 44, i have it on my 3.0L, sounds great, mines 2.5" pipe, single in/single out, dumped right after the muffler. like olfordtruck, i probably lost some mpg but it sounds great!

You have a muffler on your evo? Why would you not just use a resonated mufflerless exhaust?

I have a 3.0 L with a glass pack and it sounds good to me. the only time it sounds remotely ricer is in the higher RPM's but i think no matter what you may have that problem, but other than that it is super loud and throaty. i told the guy at the muffler shop to make it sounds as close to a v8 ad nonimport as possible and thats what i got.

But there is nothing like the boxer rumble that any other 4-cylinder can recreate.

You can have a mufflerless exhaust that sounds "good" as long as your moving alot of air through the pipes.

because i bought the buschur exhaust back before i knew they were held together by a craptastic slip-fit system. when i took my cat out for the test pipe the exhaust system fell apart. so i took it to a welder and had the problem fixed permenantly. the reason i havent gone with a resonated test pipe is because my evo is already considerably loud.

oh and my magnaflow muffler is like 40lbs. its a brick. the magnaflow on my truck is way lighter. ive done some a lot of weight reduction in the evo and now its time to get rid of that POS magnaflow muffler.

lol, oh, and that 30r isnt really moving that evo at all. i just went from an HTA 3563 to an FP Red, holy crap, there is a huge difference in spoolup and max boost.

This is unrelated but I have an HTA3076R, and HTA3582R. I prefer the 3076 because it is better on the street with methanol and cornjuice. I switched to the 3076 from an FP red. (not trying to rape the OP's thread)

Back to the topic - bigger resonators will give deeper sound: Think the OP is looking for that.

Also - never heard of a 3563.. you might mean 3562.

x2... flowmasters sound the best... I put a regular 40 series on my 2.3L duratec, because all the other brands sounded too ricey...

Look on youtube at the different ones - i think you'll see that the flowmaster sounds perfect...
