placebo effect - no you cant.

a traditional CAI is really a HAI so you will lose timing and lose power. stock is already a CAI, so why bother.

He is saying that you can't feel the extra power. He is right actually. Unless you had a seriously clogged muffler then you would not be able to feel any power increase since you just used the stock piping. Using your "butt dyno" as we call it is not an accurate way to measure horsepower.

i did the same to mine. just a muffler with a chrome tip. I LOVE IT!!!! it gets louder as it gets miles on it. It has a unique sound to it

then i probably did. because i had ppl drive it that had no idea i had a flowmaster on it and they said it felt a little more perky. not much, but you can feel some if you know how your car performs

You can't - I tune cars professionally and I can't even tell "by the seat of my pants" when I've gained 20, 30, 40 horsepower on the dyno. Torque is what you feel. It takes more than what effects this would have (which is nill because you havent advanced your timing, or leaned out your mixtures)

No.

Torque gains come from fuel and timing. The difference in output due to decreased backpressure or intake resistance is negligible on a modern day "running like new" vehicle.
