Default Help with Muffler

I have a flowmaster 40 series muffler on my ranger. It is 1 in 2 out. I am jus running my factory tip out of it on one side, I capped off the other side, but now my truck seems to be lacking power. Is this true I heard i may be losing back pressure but not sure.

Is this a catback? What diameter pipe are you running?

If you use pipe with a diameter too large, you can run the risk of losing much-needed back pressure. But if you're running stock diameter pipe, and have one of your two exits plugged - essentially making it a single out, I'm not sure that would cause you to lose back pressure.....

Ya I still have the stock piping. All I did was cut the stock muffler off, and weld a new one on.
