Default header?!?

Why can't I find a header for my 01 2.3 MTX?

What's MTX?

Probably not available because you've got one already....

Lima 4cyl's have available headers. Not the duratechs because as I understand it, they already have headers.

I used to be part of Taurus Car Club of America, SouthEast, I know what it's like not to have an aftermarket driving a '94 Taurus. Everything for them has to be custom made, maybe the ranger is the same, kinda makes it fun.

Just so you know....on a RWD(rear wheel drive), it's not typically called a transaxle, it's just a transmission. Transaxle typicially is a term used with FWD or AWD transversely mounted engine vehicles because it acts as the axle too...cv shafts bolt to it. Not the case on a RWD.

blah...

manifold is cast steel.

header is tubular and relieves all downsides that manifolds have. header = typically equal length runners which = more power...heat is expelled instead of witheld iwth manifolds...

*edit...more free flowing headers are compared to manifolds. Which creates power.

But in all reality, on these stock ranger engines, there's only a gain at high rpm's and sometimes you lose low end torque. 1: how often are you turning 5000 rpms? 2: losin low end torque isn't what you want. I'll only run 'em if I boost my truck.

I was just saying the header is the same thing as a exhaust manifold so the guy knew what we were talking about.

I know the diffrence from header and exhaust manifold one provides more flow
