aftermarket catalitic converter same as stock dual converter?

my truck has 2 in-line catalitic converters stock. is there a better and cheaper converter that i can put in that won't mess with my O2 sensors and computer?

Nothing that's going to make a noticeable difference. If there's nothing wrong with your stock cats, you'd be better off spending the $$$$ on something else.

i replaced both my cats with one magna flow high flow cat. i did this b/c there was an exaust leak & one cat needed replacing anyways. exaust shop wanted like $400 to replace both. i picked up summit catalog & ordered a magna cat for $60, flowmaster 40 series for $89 & 4' of 2.25" tubing for $23 & pacesetter headers for $198. i bent up exaust with my dads hydrolic pipe bender & he welded exaust up & dumped it out of muffler. so for $380 & about 2 1/2 hours of work i got me a fresh new exaust. sounds way better then stock. i really feel seat of pants gain. i gained about 3mpg when im off fun peddle. so for less then 2 cat replaced at local exaust shop i got complete brand new exaust..& bought me & dad lunch

yes you can get a highflow cat that is a universal replacement, but you will not gain any power or mileage unless your factory one is damaged leave it alone, there are also laws about your cat.

i replaced everything as i said & a few days later i passed inspection. so what i did was legal & it still passed emissions

Hey guys and girl, I just got my truck coded and it called a: bank 2 sensor 1 error.
Does anyone know if that is my upstream o2's or the 1 behind cats?

can you just put one cat on a 02 ranger 3.0. my cats are bad. 1000.00 through dealer. 62.85 off ebay for one magnaflow

Your year should only have 2 cats after the y-pipe off the manifolds. Newer (01+) have 2 pre-cats in the y-pipe and 2 after the collector from the y-pipe. You should just have those 2 if you even have that many. I deleted my last cat, still leaving me with 3 cats (2.5" from the big cat back to the muff) and I gained some throttle response, sound and about 2mpg.
