Default 4.0 engine swap

I'm trying to put an 02 y-pipe on a 96 frame... the right bank clears fine but the left bank hits on the crossmember all the way across. I know 96"s came with 4.0s . Did they use a different y-pipe, crossmember or both?

1996 Ranger SC soon to be 4.0 and 2002 Ranger SC soon to be 5.0. The 96 (formally a 3.0) is getting the 4.0 out of the 02 & the 02 is getting a 5.0 out of an Explorer.

The 96 4.0 is OHV, where as the 02 is SOHC. The front suspension is also different on both, both 2 and 4 wheel drive trucks. I highly doubt you can use it.

Thanks, I never realized they were different engines. OK , I have the 02 --4.0 engine mounts and they don't seem to line up with the existing holes on the 96 frame. Is the 96 engine mounts a 2 part set-up also(1 to the engine,1 to the frame, bolted to each other)
