Question on exhaust

Was thinking about getting the flowmaster super 44, leaving the stock pipe up to the muffler then out of the muffler I'd run 3 inch pipe all the way out, would that harm performance, sound like shit or what? Does anyone have that setup for their truck, I'd run the pip out to exit where the stock pipe exits

why not just run 2.5 from where the exhaust bolts to the cat to a 2.5 muffler, 2.5 after that and a 3" tip.

I also thought of that but I was just gone get a long 3" pipe and go from the muffler back, make it a lil easier on me lol

i think it kind of defeats the purpose to put larger pipes after the muffler only, but i'm no genius.

Lol me either, my buddy I work with was a mechanic he said it'd sound good but I want to hear from the ranger family an see if anyone has this setup or close to it, I wanna keep the pipes as much stock looking as possible just want them bigger

unless you chrome your exhaust, it'll look pretty stock. don't put a fancy tip on it and you're good to go. i did 2.5 from the flange after my cats to the muffler, then 2.5" turn down after that. looks stock since everything new rusted and oxidized like the stock stuff did

Yeah I wasn't planning on chroming the pipes, just increasing the diamter of em, I do have a tip but it was a gift and it doesn't look that bad on there so I'm gonna keep it lol

free magnaflo from a friend. something is loose inside it, so it rattles when the engine is cold and is really annoying. but after that it sounds good for the price lol

Lol can't complain there, my buddy was gonna give me his old thrush but it got stolen lmao so I gotta either buy a thrush or flowmaster

^^^ This is exactly the setup I have with the Super-44 single in, dual out with black tips, and I totally love it! It's kinda my favorite story, but I pulled up to the Ford House a couple months ago, and I had one of the Techs working there walk over and ask if I had done a V8 swap!

Needless to say, I am a very pleased with my exhaust system! Hope that helps a bit...

I'm pretty sure on the tip length, but not positive... Lol! give me just a second and I'll go measure it..

Okay! Actual length on mine is 17" Officially, when I ordered them, they are an 18" inch tip. Below are couple pics. They are not very good, but it kinda gives you an idea what they look like! Hope that helps!

Ohhhh I like that, I'm def gonna paint most the pipes black then I want to either reuse or get new long chrome tips, my tip now is only like 6 or 8 inches
