Default exhaust hole

hey everyone, i have a 91 ranger with the 3.0 v6, and there is a hole in the pipe right after the cat and before the muffler, i have tried to patch it twice, once with the wrap and again with the muffler weld and both have melted off. im starting to think that there is something wrong with my exhaust system, any ideas would be very appreciated, thank you.

Take it to a muffler shop, and for what you have spent on cheapo fixes, you can get it patched right. That is a high temp area of the exhaust system, being right after the cat, so epoxy and fiberglass won't hold up.

Right after the cat is one of the hottest spots so like John said cheap fixes wont work.

just have them fix it... it might be cheaper to get a new pipe ran..

ok well it is the original exhaust system so im thinking about upgrading to a flowmaster super 44, what kind of gains can i expect with that besides just a better sound?
