Default Insulation ??

would insulating the air intake hose would help at all??? how about those insulation boxes for the air filter..... i've been trying to find insulation tape on line.... any ideas???

In that case, no it would not be accomplishing anything. As long as you are moving forward with air coming in the grill, you are getting fresh air through the intake. The intake air temperature sensor which is up by the throttle body reads the same as outside air. So the air coming through the air intake is not getting heated by the engine. It is moving way to fast for the temperature of the tube to effect it. I've learned this by watching the intake air temperature behavior on my scangauge.

YES, I want to INSULATE ir from heat as STL stated.... but what FireRanger says kinda got me confused... i thought that all those gizmos to keep thae air cold actually did work....

Not sure what you mean. I'll try to explain this again.

The air intake is getting fresh air from outside when you are moving forward. This air does not get heated in the intake tubes at all. The air makes it to the intake manifold the same temperature as when it went in from the grill. So insulating the tube would add no value to anything.
