I have the same truck model, don't know if it effets gas mileage. Mine is a 5 speed and I get 220 miles on 13 gallons....I've always thought exhausts and intakes (breathing mods) to help mileage if anything because they help the engine breathe. How much was your exhaust and did you install it on your own?

i had it installed, they had to put a tail pipe on due to i just thought the truck three days before i got it installed. it had no tail pipe. it only had a catback glasspack exhaust muffler just sitting there welded on. so i had to but a pipe for 60.00 and the setup for like i think 179 all together i think i paid 279.00 my tank i think it bigger then a 13 gallon tank. im at 238 and mine is on E now. Also due to the winter they put something in the gas for the smog . that starts in oct tenn about Jan. then after that u get better mileage because they take that out. so u will get about 20-30 miles more a tank.

Lets see, I have a 03 3.0L V6 auto tranny. I have the MAC Performance intake and then i wanted to go with a flowmaster super 44. I put it in and brought the exhaust out before the rear tire like a F-150 Lightning. I lost a ton of backpressure and the truck is running very lean (which means there is too much air and not enough fuel in the cylinders). I now get 21 mpg at the most if the whole tank is highway driving. Just driving to school and back is much worse. 50 miles a day, half of which is highway, gets me at about 18 if I drive like an old man.

Gas mileage is out the window for me with my setup until I get a SCT X3 tuner. That will finally put me over 200 hp and hopefully push my commute to school to 20 mpg. It also dosnt help me that I have the Edge edition with 4.10 gears. I have to fill up every 3 days and I usually get about 220 miles on a full tank.

really? with my flowmaster super 44 and aFe cai, i get 24-26 mpg highway and 15 mpg city, my last drive across state yesterday yielded 200 miles on half a tank, im at around 240 miles with a quater tank to go as of now.

Do you still have your exhaust going over yor rear axle and out behind the wheel? If your piping goes anywhere over the axle you have a ton more backpressure than me and that has a lot to do with the fuel mapping. Plus you have the U/D pullies which will help out a ton on the highway. And also if you have 3.55 or 3.73 gears you will also get about 1 to maybe 2 mpg better on the highway than me since I have 4.10 gears.

ya i have 3.73 gears and u/d pulleys, but my exhaust is dumped with a 18" turndown right after the muffler, no bends at all, so you have more back pressure than mine

It does help it but at some point you need to get the tuner so you can tell the computer to change up the fuel mapping. Once the mappig is done the change is like night and day with both hp and mpg. The U/D pullies do not require a retune so thats why im gonna do them after the tuner.

lol...you NEED 4.10s. that power robbing auto makes that Duratech turn into a 100hp monster! You need that deep gear to get it going.

Yes, 4.10s are a must! I drove a 3.0 Ranger with 3.73 gears a few weeks ago and its terrible! The 4.10s bring it to life!

Ill be happy once I get 300 on a tank after the tuner and U/D pullies. The super 44 sounds good too, true muscle sound without the poping, and it lets the exhaust flow so much faster. The 3.0 may be lacking with hp but it will last longer than most V6 engines. Thats why they call it the Vulcan... cast iron block and heads!
