I ran pacesetter headers, no cats, full 3 inch exhaust with a flowmaster 3 chamber muffler. It was loud, and people at the hotel would always ask me what v8 I had...and look honestly surprised when I would say 4.0 v6.

I have mine set up exactly like yours Ben10, though mine almost sounds a little deeper. That's probably the video though. If I have time I'll take a video of it today.

Spudkilla, I'd go ahead and do it... but get some good music to crank up when you take long drives because the noise will get on your nerves after a while I guarantee you that you'll turn heads wherever you go though haha.

I got a question, I got the flowmaster 40 series exhaust installed about a couple of years ago and from time to time it will sound quiet one day and loud the next day? (started happening a couple of months ago) I know im not trippin. so why is this happening?

Sounds pretty good in my opinion..did it to mine and it sounds way better than the stock muffler that was all corroded inside ahah

It's bad to run on no muffler, sounds okay but it's bad, the muffler is there because when you shut your motor off it sucks in air and the muffler stops that, therefore you're risking the chance of breaking a valve

----------

If I was you trying to save money but get a good sound, I'd go to a parts store and just get a thrush muffler, usually they're only like 30-80 bucks, depending on what you get, they sound good too, and louder

Why the fawk would you want to? So you look like the ******* in every parking lot. Dont rig it, buy a nice exhaust kit and put it on.

My splash has dual motorcycle mufflers at the back, exhaust split just behind the cab w/no muffler. I figure the dual exhaust isn't unique, but the bike mufflers sound pretty good with the 4.0. They're about 24" long slash cuts with either baffling or fiberglass packing in them. I haven't really looked. You probably could get some used ones on ebay or buy new Emgo mufflers on the cheap.
