Im talking about the last catalytic...it has no sensor it front of it.. only behind it...this should not set off my check engine light..right?

If you mean behind as in to the rear of the truck behind the cat then yes it will set off a code. That cat just like the others are there for a reason. If the O2 sensor is in front of it then it is not the cat but a resonator chamber. That you can remove. If you post a pic of what you are talking about it would help also.

If it's the 2003 in your sig
YES it will set a code (and run RIIIICH to "save" itself and waste tons of fuel)

Im talking about the very last Cat that comes right before the muffler...Behind the very last cat is a sensor...so i was thinking that if i take off the last cat..it wont affect the sensor because the sensor is behind it not in front of it.....

it WILL effect the sensor. The sensor is designed to verify the difference in reading between the BEFORE cat oxygen sensor and the AFTER cat oxygen sensor to verify the air fuel ratio actually combusting, and the efficiency of the cayalytic converter.

Anything from the LAST sensor to the tailpipe could be removed without setting a code

it sounds like your talking about a resonator. They are very similar in shape as a Cat but much different and the Cat usually isn't that close to the muffler.

If it's a resonator (empty) then it won't matter.

Knock on it, if it's hollow your ok. If it's got weight/solid density, it's got catalytic converter crap in it and will be a problem

If you're talking about the last thing before you see the muffler and it has a sensor going to it, then yes it will set off your check engine light. If it doesn't have a sensor going to it, then it's not a catalytic convertor, It's a resonator. here's an old photo of my cherry bomb exhaust:

You are talking about where the header flange meets the exhaust flange right?

Ok kool. Sometimes you have to be specific in your questions. With today's technology, you just about need to have a degree in computers.

I seen that for sale somewhere on the web. It's called an oxygen sensor bypass kit or something. I can't remember where I seen it though.

Radioshack: $8 takes 10 minutes and a soldering iron

I figured that is one of the places, but there's another place that does make a kit that is plug and play and takes about the same time. It's software and hookup system is based on the same setup as a fuel/air ratio guage that plugs into where the O2 sensor is normally installed.

Yes and no my friend. Yes these engines are indeed set up from the factory to operate off a certain amount of back pressure. That fine is not correct for someone removing the cat off the street. That's for an exhaust shop you mentioned. If someone on the street is caught removing the cat, they go strait to jail without question or hesitation. Especailly here in VA. This state is worse than CA when it comes to these exhaust regulations.
