i unbolted mine under the cab and just left it like that. it sounds ok, but it gets annoying sometimes because not only is it louder outside but its alot louder inside too.

----------

i want to straight pipe it but i havnt gotten that far yet.

Is it an OHV roller motor or an OHC motor? OHV roller motors do sound good with no muffler but they tend to be a bit annoying at times. I don't know what OHC version of the 4.0 sounds like so I really couldn't tell you about this one. But since you live in TN, you can just about get away with murder as far as strait pipe exhaust goes. Here's a website you might want to check out. There are some exhaust sound clips in there too:

http://www.holley.com/50170FLT.asp

Go 6 inches behind the cab with this monster and it will indeed set off FACTORY INSTALLED car alarms on certain makes and models. Only the muffler itself is needed no tips or nothing. It's not loud but it's deep, real deep. Click on the "hear it here" link underneath where it says "no image availible" for a sound clip.
