I did this to mine. But im not running straight pipes...I just took off the muffler and brought to the front of the rear tire. And i added a nice dual exhaust tip to it. It looks very legit as its tucked nicely under the truck and you cant tell its not true dual. It sounds nice to..has a nice little rumble to it..but it does bring more droning sound to the inside of the cab as you are putting your self closer to the exhaust exit...Thats up to you though...the droning don't bother me...

I cut the pipe just after the rear cat to move the muffler forward. Then I slapped a 90 degree bend after the muffler and put a tip on. sounds good. and looks good. i also sprayed it down with black high heat paint.

I have a Thrush Turbo with a Silverline tip coming out in front to of the tire. I wouldn't know if mine was loud or not, my tire noise drowns out everything.

Your's will be louder than they were if you dump it before the tire, but I don't think it will be that bad. Have you thought about putting a muffler on it? You can go on Youtube and check out Rangers with different exhausts and get and idea of what kind of tone it will have.

I would pipe it out the sides like the others have done especially if you have a louder muffler because you'll hear it alot more in the cab.
