My 4.0 sounds awesome without the muffler. I just unbolted mine under the cab. I turn heads wherever I go, but the loudness getting a little annoying on long trips... I don't recommend it if you take the interstate very often.

I've had no problem with it either myself. Mine is dumped about a foot behind the cab and I never had any problems at all.

Im looking to mod my exhaust and I plan on just getting rid of the cat under the cab/front of the bed. If i can get ahold of some cheap pipe Im going to do a turn down. Hopefully it will sound good, if not gonna look into a Flowmaster 40. Hopefully will have this done in a few days and can share my results.

Yes it is. Here is a photo of it:

Basicly what I have now is a 28 inch long cherry bomb glass pack with the stock pipe size inlet and outlet dumped about 1 foot behind the cab. The stock pipe size is 2 1/4 inches. It's not loud because of the small C.I.D. of the 3.0 Vulcan roller motor and since I chose the biggest length of Cherry Bomb's glass packs, it won't burn out either. The date on the photo proves it because it's still got that deep rumbly tone to it and now the paint they used is now faded off. When you first start it and if your motor does like mine slightly revs up, it whistles a bit. It really does sound good. AND ABOVE ALL ELSE, IT'S CHEAP. The muffler will run you about $25 to $30 bucks and most exhaust shops will give you a solid discount since you supplied the muffler. All they'll charge you with is Labor. All of this cost me around $70 bucks total, which is less than what it would cost you to buy any name brand exhaust you can think of. A Flowmaster muffler can about $100 bucks or more just for the muffler. Magnaflow usually starts around $170 bucks because it's stainless steel which is extremely expensive right now. I was going to buy stainless steel to build my T-Bucket with and turns up I'll have to get special wire and electrodes for welding it. I watched one guy spend around $600 bucks for a custom magnaflow exhaust which is too much. It did sound good though.
Best of all they have alot of other mufflers for those that don't like the glass packs as well.

I got rid of the last one. Mine had 3 and getting rid of the last one it made a huge difference in terms of sound. Look in the photo above to see. Right before the exhaust starts you'll see where there's no catalytic converter/resonator. I had to go out of state to get that done cause it's illegal here in VA.
