Default 2.5" or 3" exhaust

I recently bought a XLT 2011 model and am getting the exhaust done this friday. i have been told to get a 2.5" instead of 3" because you will still gainperformance and not losing torque is this true? or any comments regarding rangers and exhausts

Cheers

if you wanted to run 3", you would need special headers with larger collectors, new cats and all new piping; and you wouldn't gain ANY hp. Stick with the stock diameter
