Default 94 Ranger Catalytic Converter Question

I was wondering is a 94 Ranger's catalytic converters control the "fuel management system" for a 4.0L motor?

Thanks

The PCM controls your fuel management. The Catalytic converter contains an 02 sensor that will give input to the PCM to determine amount of fuel needed. Otherwise your catalytic converter is used to scrub harmful emissions.

Thanks Now I understand how it works, since my 94 has 2 O2 sensors is the first 1 the one that would throw the check engine light? or would the 2nd O2 sensor thats built into the cats oval neck be the culprit that would throw the CEL?

They both act independantly, either of them could set off the code. What code is it throwing?

No codes are throwing, I was just wondering which O2 sensor is more sensitive as in reacting and throwing a code?

Really, they both are pretty equal.

Lol no problem. Really O2 sensors are pretty reliable. I'd recommend that if you change your exhaust go ahead and change them. They aren't cheap though. I have seen them last 300,000 miles, and I have seen them last 3000 miles. Although I have seen most hit 130,000 to 170,000 miles before needing touched.
