Default will this melt ?

so im going very soon to get a dual exhaust. i have the holley rolly urathane roll pan from street scene, and im goign to run my tips through it. it says use intercooled tips only. i asked the guy about it and he said he hasnt used intercooled tips before, but his tips are double walled, and he doesnt think it will melt it. this is very expensive job and "doesnt think" is not what i like to hear. do you think it will melt the urethane ? the tips are very close to the hole. the hole is 4" and the tips are also 4" so just a bit of space!

Thanks guys!

I think you should see about some double wall tips if they are available. Just like furnance stacks thru the roof of a garage, there insulated double wall pipe. Obviously they probably wont get as hot as an exhaust on a truck, but I think the principle still applys.

The borla exhaust I had on my 2.5 a long while back had a tip that was like 2.5" then had 1" spacers with an outer pipe. perhaps that is an "intercooled tip"....?

Personally I think you need to see a doctor before you worry about the truck.

This is the tip that I had. well it was all one piece with the tail pipe. But this is an intercooled tip. This is what I would run.

Not that there's anything wrong with that............ This just isn't the forum to be talking about it so openly.

I honestly don't like the look your going with. I think it defeats the purpose of a roll pan. Thats just my opinion. I say run them out in front of the back tire or dump the exhaust or run the pipes flush with the roll pan.
