ok so i just bought a set of headers from pacesetter. it comes with everything. and a collector to make it back to single exhaust. is there any way to not use to collector and run straight pipes for true dual??
also prob need to worry about back pressure... how do i check that??

If you do it, you need an x pipe, plain and simple. You wont have enough back pressure, and you cant check it, unless ofcourse you can bench flow your heads (not headers) at your house. X pipe it and run duas that way. You go true, all you will do is lose power. I have an X in mine and I have reversion anyways (clicky poppies when I lift off the gas).

just run them from the y pipe into a big pipe, like 3" into a muffler then duals out. It will sound great. I think "true dual" is more of a status thing then anything. Just to say "I got true duals" hey....those were cool on v8's from the 60-80's. not cool on a v6. thats just my opinion. and it is backed by personal experience with exhaust that I have personally done myself.

besides, it would be way to tight to run duals, youd have to use 1-1/2" pipe and that will make it sound like shit!

You're pretty much correct, but mine is 2 1/4" pipe. It was something my brother did for me, which I didnt ask for. It was supposed to be a gift, but he hacked the hell out of my gibson set up that was on the truck when I bought it, so Im stuck with a true dual'd V6...... RACE TRUCK!!!!! LOL

thanks guys. yea im gonna run it normal but should i delete the cat? or get a high flow cat?
then im gonna get the flowmaster 44 series. single in dual out. does any one know a good way to get dual side swept exhaust. like a exhaust tip out each side before the tires. i cant find a good way to get to the driver side. if there aint a good way im just gonna dump it 18 inchs after the muffler. which is the required length after the muffler for correct pressure.

X pipes do not increase or reduce back pressure.
Back pressure can be checked with a pressure gauge tapped into any part of the exhaust system.

X or H pipes help to tune the exhaust pulses between banks, but it is not a necessity.
All IC engines have reversion.

True dual exhaust will not lose power on a V type engine unless the pipe diameter is too big for the engine's operating range. Bigger is not always better.

Rule of thumb for V-6 is 2" ID Single or dual.

Bench flowing heads has nothing to do with checking for back pressure in your exhaust system.
