Default Flowmaster and magnaflow Prices?

I saw a lot of posts recomending the either the magnaflow or flowmaster (i know its on preference) 40 series being a good exhaust for the 4L, I was wondering, how much did you pay for the system, how much its cost to install (if you didn't do it yourself), what sizes if in comes in different sizes, your experiences with it as well. I would like an old school rumble, not loud but a nice rumble and it seems like the 40s can do that for me, but will it void my warranty If i change it?

----------

there isnt much on the magnaflow website in canada, but this one might be a contender

The Ford Ranger exhaust size is 2.25 inches right?

Hey I don't think I can answer all of your questions but I had a magnaflow duel exhaust put on my ranger in the summer of 2007. I believe I paid about $375 for it. I took it to the shop and they tore off my stock exhaust and provided the whole system... pipes, muffler, tips and all. I recently had to have it replaced (this past tuesday actually) because the welded spots started to rust. I paid $477 this time but I went to different shop as well. I'm not sure what type of system I have now as they didn't say but I really liked the magnaflow one. It sounded great.

I recommend taking your truck to a shop that has everything and let them do the work because you'll probably save money. Unless you can find a system online for a few hundred and then having a shop install it for you. All-in-all I wouldn't pay more than $450 total (exhaust system and installation).

Would I just go to a normal garage , or would I have to go through a muffler and exhaust system to have them order one and then have them install it? How long it did it take for them to do it, did they have to keep the truck overnight?

Ranger:
$30
+$50 labor
$80

I do only have a Cherrybomb, though. It sounds good, though.

Cheb:
$90 for the muffler
+$300 for mandrel bent tube, labor, and beer.
$390

Had the same shop do the Ranger too. He'll do any other exhaust I every get. Great guy, good prices (yes, I shopped around), and GREAT work.

yeah i dont think i would do the whole exhaust, just the muffler and tip (would that be enough?), so where you went, did you order your parts and then go see him, or did he order it through his shop?

i paid around $450 for my custom flowmaster duals. 2.5 inch pipe from the cat back with 3 inch tips. sounded great until the muffler finally roted out after 3 years. I replaced it with a magnaflow single a few weeks ago. 2.25 pipe cat back no tip for $275. all magnaflows are stainless steel which raises the price on them over the flowmaster.

I ordered the muffler and then went to his shop. All I got was the muffler, but we cut the pipe from the cat back and made it all custom from their on. Sounds awesome, IMO. I need to get a better video now that it's broken in.

flowmaster all the way!

it was cheap for me, as i had a dual exhaust setup on my problem plaugued '11 mustang, so i took one and just welded the stang muffler and ran 2.5 out to a 3' tip. sounds great! 50 bucks.

then i sold the other one for 50 bucks so i broke even! haha

I was wondering what the stock muffler size was, I read somewhere that it was a 5x8x18 with 2.25 inch pipe, also, is it a center/center or offset center
