well it depends. Are you gonna do true duals or just a y pipe behind the one 8" glasspack?

y pipe after the rear axle. but now theres another factor: overly loudness. i dont want it overly loud for huntin season. itll spook all the turkeys and deer. would a 8" be overly loud? if so, wat size should i go to? i want that loudness, but not LOUD loudness

electric cutouts dont pass inspection here in virginia and is a major fine if you get caught

A cutout:

Basically you flip a switch and the closed off pipe opens up to let the exhaust out there and bypass a muffler(one in pic is a manual cutout). This lets you retain a nice exhaust for driving, but lets you open it up nice and loud when you want to. You can swap it out for a piece of straight pipe come inspection time, as they are very easy to install and cheap too.

my friends say go wth flowmasters. ik that theyre deep, at idle, but not my kinda deep. theyre kinda loud when ya romp it, but not loud enought. yet why do people keep saying that flowmasters are better

i think people like the tone, they sound sweet. idk about you but i think they are pretty damn loud, but thats from outside the truck. its nice to have a muffler thats not obonoxious.

id say flowmasters too because they are a good brand. im sure people are going to say "you could have payed less for the same thing" but im not so sure.

im a fan of you get what you pay for, MOST of the time its true for parts and stuff.

yea i see what you mean but if it was me thats what id do. go on youtube and look up the powerstick mufflers that were mentioned, i think you'd like them

flowmaster is overdone and the sound is just ok. I have heard everything from Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Dynomax, Borla, SLP, GMMG, Powersticks on LS1 cars in person. GMMG was great if you didn't put longtubes on, Borla is overpriced, Magnaflow is quiet (unless you get a Magnaflow bullet, those sounds awesome), SLP LM series is just awesome.

Still, a cutout is an awesome idea for your needs. You said you would need it pretty quiet for hunting right? Well, any aftermarket exhaust is going to be loud enough I bet, even the Magnaflow. A cutout lets you be quiet when you want, and loud when you want. They are cheap ($125) and easy to install. If emissions are a problem, just swap it out for a piece of straight pipe before inspection.
