Default Has Anyone Ever Heard Of The Bolts In The Exhaust Pipe?

I was wondering if anyone on here, has ever heard of the trick were you put 2 bolts in a "X" Pattern in a little larger exhaust pipe than the main tail pipes, it's suppose to make a popping sound when you let off the gas after acceleration. And is it even good for the engine to have the back pressure pop when the gas is let off?
