My Flowmaster rumbles pretty well for a V6, with the CAI it rumbles almost as well as my father's F-150 with a Flowmaster. It sounds best when starting it up and when I am accellerating on the on-ramp to the highway. Best way to go is find a shop the mandrel bends their own pipes and that also MIG welds instead of clamps.

yea ima go with the 40 series. just decidin wether or not to put pipe behind it or dump it. and i only hit 4k when i have a rev off or if i gotta get the f outta dodge. i dont do em on a daily basis. ik its bad to always run high rpms or redline o0n a OHV engine for i could push a rod. im not a guy that treats my truck like shit

i also realized. the pipe going into my gibson is 2.5", but both tailpipes out are 1.75". that seems too restrictive and thats probly why its quiet, on top of the muffler being a turbo style.

You could easily buy a tip that converts to 3"

the tip is 3", but the tailpipes goin to the tips are 1.75". the tips are maybe 9" (wild ass guess) people say 18" tips help in deepening the sound

perhaps while changing your muffler you widen the size of your outs. the piping is not that expensive, its the bending that can be a pain. I heard the same thing that if the tips are longer, they deepen the sound but I cant vouch for that.

That's actually not a bad idea. The tip tends to enhance your exhaust note. I've seen and heard a world of difference when using and exhaust tip. Flowmasters love exhaust tips for some reason.

so if i decided to put pipe behind my flowmaster rather than dumping it, and with 3" 18" long tips, itll deepen it quite a bit. i have heard a youtube vid of a 3.0 with a flow 40 dualed with the tips that i said. idle sounded like a v8, but my headphones may have exaggerated the sound

now this is a nice sounding video ive heard. its a 93 explorer 4.0, 2.5 in 2.25 dual out magnaflow. i like it, dont got too much, if any, rasp or ricer sound. now would the sound matter if i dumped it or ran pipe after it

This is the setup on my truck. took out the two small cats and installed one big magnaflow highflow cat and a flowmaster delta force 10 series muffler and just a crome tip dumped.
