the reason why im sketchy bout magnaflow is that i hear one vid of a ranger or some other v6 truck with magnaflow, it sounds deep and beefy. but some other vids is the opposite: quiet, not loud, and a bit ricey. will it be quiet at first, but get louder as i put some miles on it?

Magnaflow is the best sound. Avoid glasspacks (that's why mine sounds like an effin ricer).

The only way to get a V6 to sound like a V8 is to do cylinder head work, replace the camshaft with a little bit more lift but not too much it will be pulling on the brakes if go too much and create a drivability problems if you do. Or you can do what's quoted below.

I used this for a long long time on my 3.0. They sound good and don't have that ricey sound either. Use one of these 6 inches behind the cab with no tips or nothing. The damn thing is so deep that even on a 3.0 V6 roller motor that it sets off factory installed car alarms due to it's extremely deep tone. It's not loud but man oh man is it deep:

No other muffler has even come close and I've had them all. Click on the link "hear it here" underneath where the image is supposed be for a sound clip. I had one old man swear up and down my truck was a V8 and even after showing him that it was a V6 he still wouldn't believe me or his own eyes.

ive been seeing that MAC exhaust is pretty loud. is it? and knightmare, with your terminator muffler, you have no rice? and comparing the deepness of it to a v8 exhaust, wat could it match up to?

I'm running this one

With a chambered muffler there is no real "break in" time.

It out done a stock V8 mustang in terms of exhaust sound, and I can indeed compare it to alot of other exhaust systems that are way more expensive. Right now I have a cherry bomb glasspack. The sound can't out do a high performance vehicle due to the C.I.D of a small motor but if you use that same muffler the sound is better than any major muffler manufacturer out there. Flowtech Exhaust Systems is owned by holley. When I first installed it, it had an "old school" big truck sound to it, rather than that usual po'ed hornet sound that you'd normally get with a small motor. I had to get rid of it due to a clearance issue when the rear main seal failed and it started banging around on my drive shaft. I plan on getting another one soon. This will be my 3rd time getting this muffler I mentioned.

alright, ill look into it. now with yours being 3" in 2.5" dual out, did that affect backpressure?

When I had it no it didn't. The reason being is because right at 3,000 rpms it sounds like a freight train in the cab. To get rid of that droning sound crack your window a bit and it will sound alot better. here's what I got now due to the rear main seal failing and my drive shaft started clanging against my exhaust driving me crazy:

I went with a 28 inch Cherry Bomb Glasspack muffler and went back to the stock pipe size. I still have it to this day and it hasn't burned out do to the small C.I.D. of the 3.0 Vulcan Roller motor and it still sounds deep and rumbly. If you don't remember the stock pipe size it's 2 1/4 inches. Plus if you see the exhaust flange in the photo you'll notice that there's no catalytic converter/resonator there. I had to go to Tennesee to have that done. I would love to get that Terminator back on there. I've already had 2 of them and nothing has compared to it. It only drones on interstate at higher rpms, but damn it sounds really good.
