Default 1 7/8" or 1 3/4" Exhaust Pipe On 4.0L?`

I was wondering would my 1994 4.0L Ranger be affected if I ran Dual exhaust with 1 7/8" or 1 3/4" dual exhaust pipe with just the two stock cats?

that small of pipe will make it sound like shit. At least 2" but 2.25 would be best

more rasp like louder what are you meaning? I would run the 2 cats off the intake to a X pipe go with a glass packs or a flowmasters straight out the back all in 2.50 up to the muffler 2.25 out to 3in tips.

if you want it to pop the smaller the pipe the more it will pop and rap. That being said i think 2" pipe into a y-pipe straights will deff make it pop with 2 tips running out the back

On mine i have mine straight piped, but with a short small glass pack with practically nothing in it so i have "Muffler" and it is really throaty when it idles. Then, when i rev up it will be really raspy and pop as it decreases in RPM. I love the way it sounds if that sounds like something close to what ur looking for. However the guy who installed it for me said that the reason it does the popping so loud is because of the tip. The vapors collect in it since it is a lot bigger than the 2.25 so when it ignites them its right out side the the truck.
