Default headers for my 4.0 liter

yeh guys, can I put headers on my 02 ranger with the 4.0 liter and eliminate the converters and put duel exhaust instead?

Don't you have emission testing there?

you can absolutely do that. I have on mine. Headman headers with dual exhaust. well, I ran two-one-two, its pretty tight down there for running dual pipes. I don't think it would sound good with true duals, youd have to run smaller pipe to clear two pipes. With a two-one-two you can run bigger pipe. For example, I come right from the headers y-pipe with 3" into a 40s flowmaster, than dual 2.5" out to the corners

JBA makes headers for the SOHC but they are pricey and not worth the trouble for the small gain you get (i have them on my truck) also i dont suggest removing the cats, youre not gaining anything with maybe the exception of sound by doing so and its also illegal. like pooleo said, theres not much room under there to run true duals and theres not much at all to gain by running true duals anyways. IMO a good SI/ DO muffler is the way to go on a ranger.

Here is what I have...the shorty headers (basic stainless without the optional coatings)..cat-forward...and the cat back..stainless also. So cats are still there..system is smog legal..all fit fine as they promise. You need to choose EGR fitting on driver or passenger side header...or neither/both.

And here is what they sound like on my truck...not duals..but who wants fake/pretend duals?
