This sounds really scarey. I would advise against gutting the "Catty" or removing it. This is sounding like a RedNeck Rocket plan and well these aren't blown 350's. There are a few important factors that are affected by test piping an engine. Especially a near stock one. You will lose backpressure and alot of low end torque as well as screw your MPG, and throw your computer off by losing a 02 reading. etc. Just FYI. Have Fun.
Hmmm, For the RNR dreamers out there just to give you an idea my GT3 is putting down a bit over 400AWHP and it has cats. . . .
There are cheap ways to tell if a cat is bad, but ignorance is too costly to play around with.
