Default Re: Flowmaster?

this is what i have. A 40 series with the 3.0.

newer vid.

a old older vid.

It has gotten a lot louder since the first day i bought it.

A super 44 will be louder off the bat and get louder as time goes on.

I have the 40 series on mine, but I have the 4.0. Whatever you do, make sure you run at least a 2.5" pipe and put at least a 3.5" tip. And dont put a 10" tip on it, put something about a good 18" or longer. This will give it the "bellow" you want.

right on man! glad i could help. When you first get it be prepaid to be disappointed. I was with mine and so was my buddy on with mustang. They are quite until you break them in and have the computer adjust to the new muffler. But after that as you can tell in my vids it gets louder and louder over time.

dumping it will make it quieter going down and louder in the cab. And at idle it's louder. Happen to my buddy's ranger with a 40 series and also my buddy's mustang with a 40 series. But my buddy's taco tacmoa with a super 44 it made it louder when dumped. I don't know whats up with that.

are you going to be taking the cat out...? either way I would bump the size 2.5 and run new pipe out, if you go out the side it might be tough getting the long tip on, if you go out the back you could get the bigger tip on. Or put duals...?

Here is my vid, but again I have the 4.0 so yours might not be as deep

Crappy air shocks! lol

Yeah, all I have is the flowmaster. Of course the truck sounds different under a load and driving it. Just sitting there revving the piss out of it is not a "true" sound. I think it sounds much better when being driven.

Did you have to bybass any sensors to avoid a CEL?

No, I used wide band o2 sensors. Havn't had any problems.
