Default i have a 95 ford ranger w/ a 3.0 if i cut the cat off to get better exhaust

i would have to throw the o2 ? sensor away. will this affect anything? and could i put some flex tube from autozone in place of the cat?

Um yea your engine will run like crap get 3 mpg and dump black smoke out the tailpipe. I wouldny suggest removing the cat OR the o2 sensor, its illegal to remove the cats anyway. and the o2 sensor tells the engine how to run (richer/leaner) so you wouldnt want to remove that anyway

you will not gain anything by removing your cat. keep it and get a gibson catback exhaust

If you have two O2 sensors (one before and one after), then I would NOT suggest removing, or even busting out the cat. You will have a constant check engine light and it won't run right either. You won't gain anything by it unless your cat was plugged up to begin with. If you have just one O2 sensor, then you may be able to get away with punching the cat out. It will sound a bit different when you do this, but it may still fail emissions inspection.

Also, is it's been mentioned, if you have to pass emissions inspection in your area, you will fail every time. Some states it will even fail safety inspection, unless you have connections.

Either punch it out or go and buy a racing cat and you will still get the sound, performance and pass emissions!!!

If you do gut out the cat put a strait tube in it cause if you don't it will cause allot of back pressure

I cut the cat out of my sister's Dodge Grand Caravan and repalced it with flew house becasue it was brocken up inside and it was cloging the muffler up. The Oxogen sensor is in the exhaust manafold so it didn't effect anything. For some reason Dodge thought it was a good idea to put it their. The oxoxgen sensor allways burnt out after about two weeks. After about the third sensor I gave up replaceing them. Stupid Dodge engineers!
