ok so i see everyone welding up just mufflers and maybe some cat backs but i wanna do an full exhaust on my truck but all i kno is i want a nice gargle to it nothin raspy like a honda or nothin to mellow, i think i like the flowaster 40 or 44 not sure wich one is a deeper tone, but also i wanted to do full pipes from header back with 3 high flow cats and 1 cat delete. has anyone done this before? pics, vids ,opinions? if so what cats work well with flowmaster since they dont make any?.

I'd look into Hooker Headers exhaust systems. It might not be what your looking for. But I put a Hooker Aero Chamber muffler on my 4.0, and there designed to take out the raspy poping and high pitched sound that comes with a V6. It has a nice rumble now, not super loud, but I imagine with a system it would sound very good.

high flow cats are a complete rip off...........theres really no restriction in the stock cats.....i would just leave the stock cats on....youll save yourself a bundle and a headache...the sound your looking to get isint impossible..but you might have to lower the standards a bit!! lol...with any 6 cylinder your going to be limited with how much rumble youll get out the tailpipe.not to mention if your set up like my 01 3.0 you have 4 or 5 cats I believe......I tried a flowmaster....I tried a glasspack......i wasnt satisfied with any of it.....I wound up just chopping the exhaust at the flange right under the cab...welding a pipe with a 3 inch adapter and ran it side exit right in front of the r/r tire ( with a tip) this was the only rumble that satisfied me!

first off im a big fan of hooker and i did not know they make a system for the ranger thats sick! i will deff be lookin into that.angelomm... high flow cats do make a diff wel at least they have or the rest fo the vehicles iv owned lol. but i do have high standards...im cursed with the modo do something once and do it right ahah i hate it, but i did what you are talking about to my friends ranger and i was pritty happy with it but it was not the sound i am lookin for. i wish i had a clip of my old car it was a v6 as well and it sounded nice. thats a really good vid. edge. did u run headers and everything else(cats etc.) back? and how much did it run you?

Thanks. Cat forward shorty headers...nicely made...and a cat back single exhaust..large diameter..nice polished end. Around $900CDN I think it was. I didn't opt for either of the ceramic coatings. Did you read the description below the video? Rather not repeat it all.

Flow master 40 is what I have, Nice purr at idle and sounds great taking off!

At the very bottom of the page is an image..Maximize Miles per Gallon..JBA. I swear I did notice better mileage right away...not huge but enough to notice.

i just went back to read it all no need to retype all that lol. hm that is deff. something to think about. btw that video is amazingly crisp good job. yea clinton i was going for the flowmaster setup but i didnt know what else was out there i practicly memorized the exhasut thread lol i just dont know ahah. i just ganna run open header ahha yea thatll be the end of that motor. i am wayyyy to picky with this truck

Picky is a good thing man. I looked around for a few months but hearing the sounds on line doesnt really compare, especially flowmaster website, Some have duals, people think WOW thats awesome and they get it they start thinking OOHH WTF

thought i was the only one who realized duals will not sound the same as single. i want to do a single in dual out swept right behind passneger tire. clean but noticeable. i LOVE the gibson system but i reali do not like the sound lol. but idk if i would like it with a set of headers 3 high flow cats and 1 cat delete and 2.5 pipes ugh lol to many variables ahah

You could go for the JBA shorty headers..go Titanium coating...and the rest custom if you want the cat changes and duals. A local shop here can do shit like that..probably the same there too. Borla and others sell parts for stainless exhausts to be custom put together....not made to fit on the vehicle but still a help to making a custom exhaust. Thanks for saying my vid was crisp...available in 1080 resolution..takes a while to load though. My best one is titled Stratford....made most of the music myself except for the bagpipes/cemetary part. Not all is shot from my Ranger....you may not think so unless you watch it all.

That video I made isn't like that..it sounds exactly like that. Is long on purpose to show how it can be quiet or not in town and on the highway. Besides good HD picture my camera also captures sound well. I noticed all Flowmaster makes for a 2002 is a muffler....maybe not even stainless.
