IDK, I dont like the look of it...I just dont see them being legal...I draw enough unwanted attention with my exhaust setup and I have a muffler...If a cop heard you running strait pipes (which he would hear you coming over a mile away) then you would definitely get a noise pollution ticket...then if you made the mistake to tell him how you did it trying to talk your way out, he could hit you with a felony for bypassing the cat converter.

just go to a junk yard....find a big throttle body with butterfly still intact (60mm)

somehow fit it to your exhaust....run a universal cable into your cab

tada

instant redneck loudness that does nothing for HP

add some truck nuts for extra zip

I have a divorced wastegate dump. Big difference - it's only open during full boost. My exhaust is 3.5" Turbo back, with no mufflers or catalysts. It gave me the control I needed to change the waste-gate spring to 32PSI for my methanol fuel map without the 2psi spike I was getting at 4700rpm.

as long as a magnet will stick to them you will be fine.

And @JP7....my point was that you aren't running straight headers all the time or a straight cutout. The full drag cars that are running straight headers run WOT for 1/4 mile

Your not getting the point. With no back pressure you gain power and torque.
case and point read the description.

I don't go around opening my television set and reconnecting wires and changing things... why?

Because I don't understand why it works.

This is the same reason why you should leave your truck just like Ford made it.

I should do what I would want to do. Which is put cutouts on it to gain horsepower and torque. They have dyno readings I think on that video. So.

RANGER KID
Its not in all cases that you want to reduce your exhaust back pressure. On a DD you want to keep some thats why they make mufflers, the muffler was designed to help regulate the amount of back pressure in the exhaust system. If you ever do this, you will only notice a gain (if any) at the bottom end (take off). Unless you are running a turbo set-up or a diesel (which have very, much higher exhaust psi's) you want to keep a muffler on it. How about this, remove you exhaust from the y-pipe after the NOx reducer on your truck and you will see exactly what I am talking about. I used to have a 2000 Trailhead 3.0 2x4 I was under the same assumption, because my papa had/still has a 89 Fox body with no exhaust that he ran at the 1/8 track in Duqoin IL, my teacher in college (NTI/UTI) suggested that I removed my exhaust and report to him the difference. So I did, very little at anything over 4k.
