Dont waste your money on a cold air intake.

What about replacing the muffler for a straight pipe or cat-back system?

forget the cold air intake and look up the intake silencer mod...just did it my truck and there is a sound difference. The new rangers intakes are pretty straight through already so i dont see spending $300+ for the same thing when you can do that mod for free

im not really bashing it...what i am bashing is how expensive the CAI actually is. Ive looked all around and one for a 2.3 is very hard to find so i just settled for the filter and the silencer mod. Looking at my intake that came stock it looked like it was already pretty smooth and straight through so i dont really see the need in getting the CAI

to help clarify, all newer vehicles have CAI from the factory, some cases the silencer can be restrictive, on rangers this can be very easily removed, on other vehicles like a nissan sentra, the intake has a bunch of resonator chambers molded into the tube, and would require a saw and fiberglass to get rid of them, so aftermarket CAI would make sense on something like that, so save money and just get a fram drop in filter along with the airbox mod.

Stating a fact is not bashing. It's only intercepted as bashing by people who are in denial of the facts.
