there's no wrong way to install a muffler..... so long the inlet is the inlet and the outlet is the outlet, it's good to go. None of this "upsidedown" BS. But I will say I'm not very fond of how your shop hung the muffler......by welding right to the body?? come on lazy shop....there's a x-member RIGHT ABOVE THE INLET PIPE. lol.

Doesn't sound to bad. Add a 4" diameter exaust tip. That will make it louder if that's what you are wanting.

Can that be just clamped on or does it have to be welded?

Really does kinda sound like weak sauce. But videos suck. lol. Give 'er some time. And you're dumped too...and dumped means louder = inside, quieter = outside. Tailpipes are your friend. lol.

Super 40 on mine back in the day. Again, videos suck. lol.

^^ Bringin up the archives shane!

X (whatever the number is) on breaking in. Fourliter dan has a Flowmaster 50 (usually quiter than 40 series) and his is pretty loud... Borderline louder than shanes Super 44. Both are well broken in.

Oh crap, I had a tailpipe when it was first installed then switched to a turn down because the shop said it would be louder. oh well.... I'm thinking about swithing to a original 40 dual out with tips or a cherry bomb extreme. After hunting season that is.....

Don't do the original 40..... they are very very quiet and very tame on these trucks, at least the OHC 4.0. I ran one after the Super 40 and before the Super 44. Now, on a carbureted small block, original 40 is the way to go for insane loud. Just not on these trucks.
