Default The ranger "rattles"?

Ok so as I am going through the gears, or picking up speed in a gear i hear a rattling noise from under the truck. It's not deep or anything just a slight rattle. Doesn't the muffler have a casing around it? I think thats what it is, but hoping somebody can tell me for sure

Heat shield around the cat. A big long hose clamp fixes it.

Could be tranny brackets or transfer case brackets/mounts. could be front axle could be driveshaft could be alot of things hard to really say without actually seeing or hearing it. However take it in immediatly as if it is a bracket you dont want tranny or transfercase falling out! id even recommend getting it towed.

could be a mount that holds ur muffler up, i hear the exact same thing. muffler is off of the loop mount so it rattles. just look around ur muffler kinda. you might find something. also try bouncing ur truck on all four corners with a friend looking under the truck. thats how i figured it out for me.

Hahahahaha. Thats the funniest thing I've read in awhile. Have it towed to a shop because it has a rattle. Guess I better not drive my truck anywhere either, with all the noises it makes. lol

thats over worrying about it. why tow it, if it were something serious sure maybe.

you do realize how much shit would have to go wrong for your transmission to decide to just bail on you right? i mean like every engine mount and transmission mount crossmemeber would have to be bad for that to happen

If you can get some one to help out, try reving the engine while stepping on the brakes the create a load. Your rattle might surface or at least the general location of it. Chock the wheels to be on the safe side too. Accidentally hitting your buddy while he listens and looks wouldn't be cool.

Heat shield on the cat and a bracket on the muffler. Problem solved
