So how do you get out of it? Is it really worth fighting a fix it ticket? Sure it's annoying at 5am on my way to work when I'm running late, very few cars on the road, and I can't go 65 in a 50 but it's a small price to pay for the idiots that leo's (try) to deal with and keep at bay. They have to charge money to help pay for leo's salary, and without people giving up their beloved money there is no accountability. Unless jail is better than paying a little fine? Let's not forget, he got a fix it ticket. He doesn't have to pay shit. I'm not saying it's not a bs ticket, but it's not like his life was seriously impacted either.
Moral of the story is, if common sense was common, we wouldn't need police, and we wouldn't get bs tickets.
The difference in your last point, is a harley sounds good. A 3.0 straight piped doesn't. On top of that, most people hear you before they see you. Most leo's know that, since they're usually picking up the pieces when a Biker isn't seen or heard.

Yea, keyboard runnaway got the best of me..
And to me of course, everyone's different and I get that but any citation is worth a fight if he thought it was worth the "public Servant" thought the time to give it to me rather than stand on his oath. I figure if the officer is there willing to perjure that.. well now it boils down to principle. Call me with authority issues or just a bit stubborn polished with some anti-establisment rhetoric. But in honesty for the short amount of times I've been stopped, I generally nip it in the bud before it gets too deep or escalated, well..., almost every time.
And although the audible differences between the Harly and the Straight pipe that could be "opinionated" as to which is more tolerable by further opinion of pleasurable or not.. A noise over a specific DB level is still a Noise over a DB level. If we're discussing the terms of lawful and legal here.. there should NOT be a a double standard regardless. Either everyone can have a certain noise level or no one can.. done.
Not to play devils Advocate here [fellow rider here] Where I can agree that the average cager should be more aware of there surroundings I have to say I have also seen riders do stupid shit because they think they can that puts them in harms way too. I know we both have. No one has a gun to your head to exchange 4 wheels for 2 and then take to the streets in whats claimed to be already a dangerous, I mean since early on, wasnt the rebel teen always infatuated with risk and danger by buying a motorcycle? The whole Fonzy from Happy Days and greaser days of cafe bikes?
This could easily escalate into a finger pointing match but I find both sides of the fence to walk on, to be backyards of angry dogs. Between distracted people who shouldnt be behind a wheel to begin with and riders taking unnecessary risks its a double edged argument here for sure.
Maybe I just think way to differently because Ive been around long enough to see freedoms taken away for the exchange of revenue and how hard everyone works to get half of what the value of currency is today. I dont think the STATE has the right to taking anyone's property.
